Bronco is failing at developing and preparing the team IMO
Recruiting isn't the problem, I actually think BYU has improved recruiting the past 2-3 years.
Here are some #'s.
Scout
4 star recruits on Utahs Roster = 4 ( Poutasi, Lutui, Barton)
4 star recruits on BYU's Roster = 11 (Warner, Kearsley, Hinds, Langi, Mangum, Apo, Stout, Rowley, Kaufusi, Wilson, Bills, Hine)
Rivals
4 star recruits on Utahs Roster = 5 (Salt, Thomas, Poutasi, Barton, Scott)
4 star recruits on BYU's Roster = 10 (Warner, Kurtz, Kearsley, Hinds, Langi, Mangum, Apo, Kaufusi, Bills, Matthews)
ESPN
4 star recruits on Utahs Roster = 2 (Lotulelei, Law)
4 star recruits on BYU's Roster = 9 (Blackmon, Nacua(ESPN 300), Warner, Kearsley, Hinds, Pauu, Mangum(ESPN 300), Apo, Kaufusi)
Obviously the star-system is flawed, but the majority of these players had big time offers and chose BYU. The problem is the talent we are getting just doesn't translate to better performance on the field. We have been exposed several times since 2010 by teams with less talent and better coaching.
