There's more value in diverse technical expertise, industry experience, academic training, social class, and things like that than the value brought by a different gender or race who went to the same college as everyone else and has worked in the same industry, etc.

The assumption that people have substantially different and valuable perspectives just because of their gender or skin color is kind of weird IMO.
