I don't trust MHver3 at all, but he is right about one thing.
The two Arizona schools (especially Arizona State) are extremely unhappy with the way things have gone with the Pac 12 since the conference expanded.

I recently made the mistake of going to ASU for grad school (seriously, I will disown my kids if they ever choose to go there). The one cool thing was that some of my professors consulted for the athletic department and I got lots of good info on how bad things were getting. The Pac 12 network has been flailing since day 1 and they have lost faith it will get any better. Due to how bad the Pac 12 network is going the revenues are nowhere near where they were projected to be. The exposure the teams get is laughable. In terms of competition the Pac 12 is falling behind the rest of the P5 (they blame it solely on declining revenues, I also include incompetence). This is true both in football and basketball.

So will the Pac 12 implode? Probably not, but there are a lot of things to fix with that conference.
