Broken leg

I'm pretty sure that Elk had a broken leg. Not in a million years would that bull have let that bear get that close. He gave up pretty easy. Look at the still of him running into the water. His back left leg looks broken. He was also limping in the water. Sad because I love elk and can't stand what has happened to Yellowstone but that bull wasn't going to make it with a broken leg.

What's equally surprising that the bear killed it, is the fact that those sharp antlers didn't mortally wound the bear.

I think you’re right about the leg. But as for Yellowstone’s elk population, I’m pretty sure it was up a bit this year.
