We saw two moose as well just outside the park
I agree 20 years ago there was an unhealthy amount of elk and deer in Yellowstone. They were all monster size and fat and lazy. You literally could walk right up to a giant bull and they wouldn’t take a second look at you. I’m not in favor of the amount of wolves introduced nor the specific species, but it has brought some more balance to the park that was lacking. I’ve been to Yellowstone maybe 30 times in my life, the ecosystem seemed more balanced in August that I’ve ever seen it.
