The biggest raccoons I've seen live in the mangroves by Cocoa Beach in Florida
They are like cockroaches in there--tons of them and they are easy to spot when you are on the boardwalk from the parking lot, through the mangroves, to the beach.
They are huge--I assume they just eat out of the garbage cans. But they look like hyenas--tall, arched backs, etc. That particular tribe doesn't at all look cute and cuddly.
