If you're going to go "holier than thou" against an entire fanbase, in an epic rant complete with religious dog-whistles, you had better be ready to live under a microscope. I find it very ironic that many in the "Max was right" camp are quick to cry foul when someone goes after Max for his personal struggles.
Most of us are very blessed to have the freedom to learn from our indiscretions outside of public scrutiny. But if we're going to joke about buying LES advertisements that say "Max was right" we should be slow to dogpile on someone who gives Max a taste of his own medicine.
