It's not the alcoholism people are attacking with Spence
There's a clear distinction between the way Max had approached his weakness, and Spence has.
In not condoning attacking either, but hypocrisy isn't a fair condemnation.
One man continues to make the same mistakes over and over and then argues that people just need to accept him that way, while the other has been very public about the struggle, owns up to it, and is using his voice to help others overcome it too.
One man continues to get behind the wheel and risks the lives of other innocent humans, the other has stayed clean and never to the best of our knowledge risked the lives of others with his addiction.
