There is a line. Max crossed it over a decade ago, apologized, and took intense scrutiny. That was fair.
He then went into a dark place and hit rock bottom. At this point, Christians and human beings needed to drop the rivalry nonsense and lift a soul from hell. Props to many, including many Ute fans, who realized this at that point.
Max then made changes to his life and went out of his way to be a good sport with all Utah fans who gave him a hard time. Taking pictures, having fun, being a good guy. Props to him and props to Utah fans who have allowed him the space to change.
It is still OK to wear a "Max hates me" shirt--in fact, Max will probably seek you out and take a pic with you. It is a fun thing now.
It is not cool or OK to wear a shirt that makes fun of a man's darkest place and addiction. There is nothing moral, justifiable, or Christian about it. Don't try to defend it.
Now, let's show this Noall guy some mercy and grace and hope that he takes positive steps to correct his mistake.
