Agree with everything except...
...that coaches didn't have defensive expectations of Knell and he wasn't given any major defensive responsibilities.
If you go back and watch games last year he often drew tough assignments against bigger players like Timmy Allen from Utah or Kessler Edwards of Pepperdine. He was very effective in both games. Allen shot 4 for 12 and finished with 11pts and Kessler, who was fresh off a 37 pt game vs Pacific, also was held to 11 pts on 4 of 13 shooting.
Knell is a better defender than CB gives him credit for.
