The curious case with Pita
This might be SGC, but I listened to an interview with Talo today that provided interesting insight into the situation with Pita. Apparently BYU worked for months trying to track down his hs transcripts, with no luck. He is still missing credit for the 9th grade. This makes him an ineligible player by NCAA standards. Since BYU is an independent it can accept ineligible players, but due to the rules in the Pac12 Utah can't.

That brings us to last week. It would seem that Pita now wants to defer his mission and play, but BYU didn't have a scholarship available, so he was instead convinced to enroll at Utah with hopes of an early scholarship. The problem is that scholarship seems to be nothing more than a false hope considering BYU couldn't find his 9th grade transcripts after months of searching.

This leaves a few unanswered questions..
-Why would Pita choose Utah if there is a high chance he will never be eligible to play there?
-Why did he leave BYU if he could play there being ineligible?
-What happened to Chazen's scholarship and why wasn't it offered to Pita?
-Why would Utah promise something to Pita that they probably can't deliver?
