Draft experts were wrong, clearly he is no Kobe
His draft hype got him up the board, but at this point he is a long way from a superstar and I doubt he ever is. Too tentative and doesn't seem to have the right mental make-up. I have been really down on him because his offensive efficiency and ratings are frankly terrible and even though he is young a lot of past pgs have been in that same boat at 19 and played much better.

He has shown a little more toward the end of the season, at least trying to take it to the paint. Generally, it's so frustrating to see him defer and wander around the perimeter. He looks very lost when he infrequently gets close to the paint and currently has no ability to consistently finish near the rim. At times, it's laughable when he has tried. Hopefully, I am wrong and he can develop into something better. He should start by getting in better physical shape as up until recently he still looked quite winded at times and clearly lacks physical strength...some of this is not his fault as he has to wait until his body catches up to his age.

I might be the minority, but I wouldn't mind the Jazz exploring an Exum trade. They probable won't get value at a top5 pick, but they might around the 10 range or for a more proven pg if they traded him this summer. I think it is possible in 2 years that he is similar to Kanter in the sense that he will have proven to have difficiencies (in his case offensive ones) and not have as high of trade value as he has now. If the Jazz keep him, which I expect they will, I hope he changes his mentality and goes to work this offseason and proves skeptics like me wrong. At least he is a long defender and seems to have good vision at times.
