Vortex scopes are the best glass you can buy in that price range. As he said, I wouldn't buy a model lower than the Viper HST. I have a Viper HST on my .22 long range trainer, and it is a good scope. The PST line of scopes he mentioned has glass etched reticles, and some are FFP. If you can afford the FFP, I highly recommend it - I've shot with both, but I like the versatility of the FFP for range estimations and dialing corrections.

For any scope less than the price of a Nightforce or US Optics, Vortex's upper lines are one of the few I'd really trust on any gun bigger than a .22 lr.
