I haven't tried that, but I only cook my burgers on cedar planks now.
Using cedar planks gives the burgers that unique taste plus the meat stays juicier. You can still load the meat with fixin's.
I give the burgers about 25 minutes over a full weber chimney of charcoal, it is a great way to do it.
