Maybe I'll try cedar planks. I already have a specific burger mix I use.
I do ground chuck mixed with 1 egg per pound, a mixture of spices that I use for a pork rub, and 1/4 cup of panko breadcrumbs per pound. I also chop up some apples and mix that with the meat. It makes for some mighty fine burgers over charcoal, but I'll try planks next time.
