The irons the pros play are at whatever loft they want them at.
But yeah the definite trend is making them stronger because people will get the new irons thinking they hit the new ones further just like you said!
Some of those pros really can hit a standard PW from about 170 yards at Utah's elevation without the stronger bent lofts though.
