I don't have to lie when I say I've never found the music of Prince to be interesting or catchy. Same with Bowie, pretty much. And I don't worship at the feet of the Beatles, so maybe that shows how much I "know," although I do like U2. There really isn't a counterpoint to discuss. It's all hot air, mine and yours. I listen to a lot of music, but I may not be listening to any of it in thirty years. None of it is really timeless. I listen to what I like, and I don't like Prince, FWIW.
