All he's saying is that we have a legitimate shot at each Samoan/Tongan recruit, for the simple fact that they all have LDS ties (family, friends, etc). That can't be said of any other ethnic group. Whether a recruit has any personal interest in BYU or not is another matter, but the fact remains that every Samoan/Tongan is recruitable for that simple fact.
Not sure if I agree with his use of the term "miss" but I guess that can be interpreted different ways.
We need to be clear here and stick with ONLY Samoan and Tongan athletes and not Polynesians in general in this context. There are several other island nations that make up Polynesia (Tahiti, Tokelau, Tulvalu, etc) where the church is not as well established.
