Sale All-American
current and former Poly qbs
Jack “Throwin Samoan” Thompson (WSU, 3rd overall pick in 1979 draft to Cincinati Bengals)
Samoa Samoa (WSU, Bengals)
Marques Tuiasosopo (UW, Raiders)
George Malauulu (former starting qb University of Arizona - only qb I have ever seen that can throw effectively with either arm)
Marcus Mariota (Oregon, 2nd overall pick in draft to Titans)
Sefo Liufau (starting qb at Colorado last year)
Jeremiah Masoli (former starting qb Oregon & Ole Miss, current qb CFL)
Tavita Pritchard (former starting qb Stanford, current qb and receivers coach at Stanford)
Willie Tuitama (former University of Arizona starter)
Sal Aunese (former starter at University of Colorado, died before college career was over – last game was against BYU in the 1988 Freedom Bowl)
Tua Tagavailoa (4 star commit to Alabama, some saying could be just as good as Mariota)
Ken Niumatalolo (former starting qb at UH)

These are just some of the Samoan qbs that I can think of off the top of my head. Of course Alex Kuresa is playing QB now for Portland State and I know there are others that I am missing.

The only Tongan that I know of that played at at least the collegiate level is Inoke Funaki at UH. If anyone can help identify others, that would be great. I don't know anyone with Hawaiian blood that played; not sure if Timmy Chang has any Hawaiian blood, always thought he was just an Asian from Hawaii.

So, although there aren't a plethora of Poly qbs out there, I would say that there will be a time when we will see one as our signal caller at the Y.
