I did take some detailed wiring photos and send them to an electrician friend.

Good advice though. Burning the house down would be pretty rough.

I'm more worried about the roof. I have been going up there every time it rains heavy to shine a flashlight around and see if there are any drips. Dry so far but I think I'll keep spot checking from time to time.
