I feel like I read something about the book ending differently and thinking that the ending seemed really cool (something about how the monsters/aliens (whatever they were in that movie) viewed the guy as an assassin and they were terrified of him and it made you see the whole story differently). Seemed cool when explained to me, but they didn't really attempt it in the film.
