Things happen in games all the time that the coaches can't control
and (especially in soccer) sometimes a small mistake can mean the better team loses. That goal BYU gave up could have been on the players more than / as much as coaching.

But the entire rest of the game was a repetition of lackadaisical player decisions that can only be explained by coaching, either in the game or in the offseason. To see them make the same decisions, over and over again, and get the same fruitless result, points to coaching.

Nebraska doesn't have players as good as BYU has. But Nebraska without a doubt planned for and outcoached BYU tonight.
