I think it was just more smokescreen for not adding any school and taking the money and running. Which was the plan leaving the July meeting.
This was a money grab, plain and simple. They wanted the networks to pay up, and if they didn't then they expand and take low ball offers from candidates to line their pockets that way. But they got ESPN/Fox to pay up to not expand, so they didn't. AA stuff just gave them more smokescreen cover.
