Then, you have to add the receivers on top of it, because they have their own principles to learn, and most important of all is that receivers and QB read things the same way (it's less about being right or wrong - though that does matter - and more about being on the same page).
So when people say "grasping the offense," that's just shorthand for something that is very complicated.
