A player on the offense, catching passes from Tanner during Spring and Summer,
told me that Tanner was running the offense like he wrote it himself. He didn't say much about Taysom at the time because he was still limited by his injury and was not cleared for everything. My guess is that Taysom also ran the offense pretty well, but that OL was a concern for the coaches. I believe that they figured that if they were thin on the OL (which it appeared they were) that it would be more beneficial to have a QB who would be more mobile and able to escape possible pressure when it came and this would give them the best chance to find the most success on the field. Giving Tanner a year to learn the system better, while developing and recruiting to have a deeper and more talented OL next season doesn't hurt either.
