It's been mentioned here from some that talked with staff
another friend mentioned the same when talking with Harvey Unga...saying Tanner would've been really banged up. No one coach will publicly say that, nor should. Wouldn't surprise me if that was the case especially with the shakeup at the first part of the season, guess they didn't want to jeopardize the future too much. Not saying that was the only reason, but only one reason that was probably taken into consideration.
