My family allowed my brother's organs to be donated.
It was great, but it gave me no comfort at all.
The only comfort I ever got came in accepting the reality that he was gone. After several months, I finally had mornings when I'd wake up without the dread of remembering that he was suddenly gone. That was a victory.
Hopefully the Mahe family is stronger than I am.
No one deserves to suffer through their tragedy.
