1. i'm not basing everything on his answer to that one question. It is much, much more than that---I have been slightly annoyed by his unwillingness to look into data and adapt for a while now.

Again, it isn't any one thing he has said. It isn't like I heard his comments and then freaked out---I used these comments as an example of his attitude toward analytics---I've been hearing subtle comments for years that are not very analytics friendly---and watched his teams play. There are some things he naturally does that jives with analytics---but he doesn't have a big commitment to it as a program....

On second thought----it does bother me that he doesn't know what the efficiency #'s are when he runs a 1-3-1---that's pretty important information to have. Coaches should know the efficiency of their schemes from a data perspective.

You may be able to find Greg popovich interviews where he has brushed off analytics---but what Greg popovich says in interviews isn't always him being honest. There is a reason the San Antonio spurs won the award for analytics at the MIT sloane conference last year. Also, there are Greg popovich interviews where he delves into spurs philosophies and analytics.
