Bird -- always seemed to be in the right place on the court.
He wasn't fast, but he always seemed to get to the right place quicker than other players.
He'd be right in between two bigger players but always seemed to get the big rebounds.
He understood positioning better than anyone else. He was like the chess player that thinks 5 or 6 moves ahead.
