you cherry picked guard driven statistical categories, used cumulative stats (nobody does that), didn't take into account the teams that he played on, and made an argument that a guy who played in 13 NBA seasons didn't have longevity (what???).

you also may want to recheck your stats. bird is 16th all time in scoring, 44th in rebounding (as a 3), 42nd in assists (as a 3!), and 33rd in steals (as a 3!). on bad teams, or teams with two stars, that's going to happen. but not on a team like the 80s celtics. it's why he and magic were so good.

maybe you didn't realize that bird has two of the greatest seasons in NBA history, is a 3x MVP (in an era in which two was rare while also playing in probably the most talent rich era), and played the type of basketball that wasn't ever going to put up the most stats. he was a 3 playing with parish, mchale, and DJ. each of them were going to take away from the major statistical categories. and with all that being said, he still ended with a 24-10-6.

if stats meant as much as you make them out to be, Bill Russell wouldn't be a top 5 player, and Dominique Wilkins would be a top 20 type player. neither one of those are true.
