yep. at UCLA, he was not just a good or great shooter, he was elite. he
had a season as a true freshman that is basically unheard of shooting the basketball. if you exclude his shots from inside the arc, just his three point shooting was on point at 41% - most of those well beyond the arc. as weird as his shooting motion is, it was built for Curry range shooting. the NBA line will hardly affect him. it's a fairly quick release and the point he releases it is just about perfect. the motion is weird, the actual release point is pretty much textbook. plus, as a 6'6" PG, he'll generally be playing against shorter guys making it that much easier to get the shot off.

but he'll only need to shoot when the opportunity is there - he's a facilitator first and he's pretty special getting to finishing at the rim in both the halfcourt and especially in transition. he'll likely never be a volume shooter/scorer like Curry.
