I don't mind it too much. The DPE shouldn't be available to too many players,
and if you're good enough to merit it you should be a no-brainer for the post season recognition.
Now when it comes to all-star teams factoring in, that's when it seems broken. But it would be broken in allowing more players to qualify for the DFE (like Klay Thompson) that really shouldn't, instead of precluding worthy guys from getting the big payday. So more power to the teams if they want to give someone like Klay $35 M/yr early in his career.
