I would guess the PAC would take OU, OSU, T TT, KU, ISU, TCU, maybe KSU
no Baylor and no WVU, If they take 8 they can get around the GOR

Help me understand what would make Texas want to be in the PAC
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:08pm
$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
TNT
5/19/17 8:09pm
Don't just say $$$$$. Tell me where $$ would come from and how that amount
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:10pm
TNT doesn't know. If they could get more money
TNT
5/19/17 8:11pm
That's true. I think the uncertainty lies in whether they'd actually get more
Harrison0Yfan
5/19/17 8:13pm
With out the lhn Texas makes more than any pac team
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:18pm
Why don't you answer your own question and try to come up with a plausible scenario then
byuTX
5/19/17 8:20pm
I don't think there is any way the go. I can't find a reason they would.
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:33pm
I find people that live life in black and white fascinating
byuTX
5/19/17 9:57pm
That is why I am waiting for anyone to give me one good reason they would do it.
travelcoug
5/19/17 10:01pm
TNT is pretty sure it boils down to some folks want to believe
TNT
5/19/17 8:51pm
Basically the 4 x 16 conference scenario would just include the current P5
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:14pm
Again TNT doesn't know. It's not his job to figure out the how
TNT
5/19/17 8:15pm
Why does TNT want it to happen
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:19pm
Where did he say he wants it to happen?
TNT
5/19/17 8:42pm
The Longhorn Network money isn't going to last forever with how big of a flop it
Scratch
5/19/17 8:25pm
Not a flop! You have all the talking points. They're turning a profit now
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:35pm
Agree. The contract is one sweet deal.
Everyman
5/19/17 8:46pm
You are assuming they will be using the same format to negotiate
truecougster
5/20/17 11:07am
The only scenario that makes sense
Brigham
5/19/17 8:47pm
Even then a Texas centric conference with the big 12 leftovers and BYU is still
travelcoug
5/20/17 1:44pm
Really this is best option outside of the SEC for Texas
GeauxCougs
5/19/17 8:15pm
Any conference Texas cobbles together
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:20pm
That's just crazy talk
TNT
5/19/17 8:51pm
It's not about the $$$
Tare
5/19/17 8:17pm
I promise you there not gonna give up more than $10 million so they can feel
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:21pm
to create a whole new division or 6 teams in their territory
Nat Gas Man
5/19/17 8:40pm
Which 2teqms would the PAC drop to make that happen?
travelcoug
5/19/17 8:42pm
I would guess the PAC would take OU, OSU, T TT, KU, ISU, TCU, maybe KSU
Nat Gas Man
5/19/17 8:49pm
If Oklahoma goes anywhere, it's with Kansas to the big 10
travelcoug
5/19/17 9:02pm
PAC won't drop any current members...that isn't going to happen. For this to
Nat Gas Man
5/19/17 9:06pm
The legalities of dropping teams seems to make it prohibitive
TNT
5/19/17 9:11pm
If the PAC dropped OSU, WSU and maybe ASU they could compete with Ivy academics.
CougarWildcat
5/20/17 1:37am
Because they are a bunch of dirty granola eating hippies.
IceCreamButt
5/19/17 8:42pm
Better question: What would make the PAC want Texas to join
CougarCanuck76
5/19/17 8:57pm
Yeah Texas would have to give that up
TNT
5/19/17 8:58pm
not necessarily, it could be folded into the PACN
Nat Gas Man
5/19/17 9:08pm
Not sure how that would work
TNT
5/19/17 9:09pm
The pac 10 network has failed, has no distribution. You think Texas is going to
travelcoug
5/19/17 9:40pm
Change is in the works...just depends upon how much
Nat Gas Man
5/19/17 9:44pm
Guaranteed that change doesn't include the ditching of a now profitable Chanel
travelcoug
5/19/17 9:48pm
The PAC XII made 1.4 mill per team from the PACXII Network Texas makes 1.475 mil
BYU Grounds
5/20/17 2:21pm
Actually you need to reread that. It's $295 Million over 20 years. $15 Mil/Year.
slatecoug
5/22/17 9:48am
it's $$$$$ and recruiting, and the big 12 doesn't matter. by going east, or southeast, they aren't going to open
macaroni
5/19/17 9:48pm
Texas name doesn't need to be attached to California to recruit in California.
travelcoug
5/19/17 10:05pm
except that they do. it's not likely that a great california kid will want to play at texas. your family can't
macaroni
5/19/17 10:12pm
Texas doesn't need to recruit California. Texas produces more D1 football players than California.
slatecoug
5/19/17 10:15pm
A great kid in Texas is probably staying there. Texas high school >>>> cali
travelcoug
5/19/17 10:19pm
Pretty sure everyone would love to have a school like UT. But so many bridges...
BamaCoug
5/19/17 10:02pm
The Big 12 has been in decline since Teams left
D.T. Survivor
5/19/17 10:11pm
That is not a reason for Texas to leave
travelcoug
5/19/17 10:13pm
That's why I said that's all I got.
D.T. Survivor
5/19/17 10:20pm
Not much, which is why they declined Larry Scott's overtures last time around.
Abe Froman
5/19/17 11:33pm
For starters, renaming it the Longhorn Conference might help.
bruincoug
5/20/17 5:59am
I donxt think they will. Going west for CFB is step down.
Big Time 55
5/20/17 8:28am
The template for such a move was written in 1996, by Texas themselves
Rize Alloyal
5/20/17 9:10am
What schools do you see w/TX to P12 as a block?
1-Wing RCAF
5/20/17 10:32am
for that to work, the PAC might have to go to 21 or 24 teams. PAC 12, B12 -8 +
