I think Miami always had the better players at that point in both those years and had a higher ceiling.
But they didn't have the chemistry that first year, and benefited from a really weak East to reach the finals. The following year once they had the chemistry they were unstoppable.
Note that I said arguably regarding OKC. What's not arguable is that the Heat would not have made it out of the West that year.

Yes, but 2011 was the first year of "big 3" in Miami. They hadn't worked out the kinks fully yet and weren't as good
