the concern some have with those is that they have NO toe protection,plus NO ONE
wears those Teva like sandals around here (its more of a Utah, Colorado, Washington, Oregon, etc... thing)

Yes..they may be hotter. Neoprene doesn't breath as well..designed to insulate.
