I think we all want a special season again (it has been a long time) and hope springs eternal each summer as the Cougars are still undefeated. Unfortunately with independence I believe it is becoming harder and harder for that magical season to happen. Teams like Hawaii or North Illinois or Boise or even Utah never had to compete with a schedule like the one BYU is facing each year. Most of them never beat more than 1 ranked team (if that). BYU could (emphasis on could) play 4-5 and will likely play at least 2-3.

I am hoping that BYU somehow catches lightening in a bottle and goes 12-1 or even 13-0 but realistically an 11-2 team may still be one of the best BYU teams ever.
