RE #4. You mention that O-lineman, TE and QB's are in our recruiting domain. I
agree with you there. However, "route-running" wide-receivers that are not long and not athletic and a cadre of 2 and 3 * running backs are what you can't have when running a pro-style offense. You mention Stanford as a comparable program, but they have access to multiple 4* type athletes at both of those skill positions. When they have a McCaffery running the ball they can look pretty good.

One thing that BradyPop mentioned in his interview with bCriddle (and that I agree with) is that he believed that for BYU to be successful we need a schematic advantage. For me, that goes with the Defense as well as the Offense. When you come out and just run your straight-forward vanilla defense and offense then you are way too predicable and you can see what happens with the 3 consecutive beat-downs that have happened at LES. I don't believe that pro-style at BYU will ever work getting us to an elite type of offense. Sure, we can probably beat up on some of the weaker sisters on our schedule, but we will never consistantly beat teams with equal or better talent using the vanilla offense and defense that we currently employ. Most other college football programs that don't have top-20 talent have figured that out a long time ago. Just look at what Leach has done at WSU and TT using his gimmick brand of offense. Turned talent similar to what BYU can recruit into a team that can sometimes beat more athletically gifted teams. Bring me some schematic advantages please.
