Koy has not "shown he is very capable, and that he knows the offense." Both of the things might be true, but based on his performance in the USU game, there's no evidence we, as fans, have that support this claim. Your evidence is that he threw ONE nice pass, and that a TD was called back for a hold (a hold which may have helped the TD happen).

And seriously, you think we had a better chance with Koy than Tanner? As poor as Tanner has played, he's looked more capable than Koy.

Now...the reality is we don't actually have adequate evidence to answer these questions. The sample is much too small and Koy hasn't been given the opportunities that Tanner or Hoge have had to develop. However, the coaches, despite not necessarily demonstrating that they're the best coaches on the planet, have seen all the quarterbacks and yet, they are still choosing to go with a redshirt as opposed to Koy. Furthermore, one of those coaches is Koy's uncle, who probably cares about Koy and would love for him to be that guy, and yet, he still doesn't choose him. My guess is there's pretty compelling evidence for the coaches to make the choices they have with Koy.

The criticisms might be out of line (or not), but let's not pretend to have seen something that doesn't exist.
