Giving up without trying... That one is interesting to me.
I've been trying to identify the why behind it.

- Is it laziness?
- Is it a product of the culture you grew up in (friends, family, etc)?
- Is it a brain thing, where some people are just wired to get frustrated more easily than others?
- Does it vary across different domains? (maybe you're more willing to try in some situations but not others)
- Is familiarity a significant factor?
- Is caring a significant factor?

This comes to mind whenever I'm writing some HTML or something at my desk and someone comes up from behind and says something to the effect of, "Whooooooa, that looks SO complicated!"

On some level, I kind of get that. It looks like a bunch of gibberish to the uninitiated. But really, it's not too bad. You just have to understand a few simple rules and then you're off to the races. If I'm feeling particularly ambitious, I might even try to explain that to them. But it seems like the response is always something along the lines of, "No, I could never understand that. It is just too complicated."

Or when people are having a computer issues of some kind - and they give up after like 3 minutes of trying. In most cases, the answer is usually just a Google search away. But even in tougher cases, I really don't understand the lack of effort. Maybe I'm just the problem solver type. It bugs me if I can't figure it out, so I keep working on it.
