I am of the opinion that there is much blame to go around BUT
We really are lacking explosive playmakers in the offensive backfield. The best guy is Tolutau. I think he will be really good for us. That being said, right now he is learning ball security and getting into good enough shape to handle more carries. The next best running back was a linebacker and is now hurt. Canada shows well against smaller Defenses (just my opinion) but gets tackled easily at the line of scrimmage. Dye and Hall are good receivers and change of pace backs-but when you have no "pace" to change from, that doesn't help as much. Finally, the quarterback, outside of Beau, is no threat to run and puts no pressure on the defense that way. Tanner used to run the ball some, but this year he hasn't and then injured his ankle.

So, yeah, I feel like we are lacking offensive playmakers. Put the blame for that where you will. I think the lack of experience by this staff may have blinded them to the impending problems. When you say, "running back by committee" you know you're in trouble. They needed to bring in some help at the running back. Historically, BYU did that at JC's. See guys like Brian McKenzie, Kalin Hall, Brian McDonald, Homer Jones, Eddie Stinnet. Great backs out of high school usually take a year to develop.
