If you are treating the conference championships as a first round playoff, if a team doesn't make and win their conference championship, they don't deserve to be in the playoff. 5 P5 champions and 3 at large bids.

It would make the playoffs more intriguing and would allow for a cinderella. That is one reason that March Madness is so fun... you never know when there will be a crazy upset. Seeing a #2 Clemson be knocked off by G5 Western Michigan would be awesome. It would make a lot more money than the current system, would be more entertaining and would only create one more game for the final 2 teams. I love it.
