This would work, an international converter could do it, but do they have an receptacle for US 220? You'd have to find
An adapter from say 220v Korea to 220v US, or cut the wire and splice it in.

I still think it'd be easier to rewire the receptacle to 120V. You can get all the parts at home Depot.

I'd look at a 20A 120V receptacle though, the standard 15A terminals might not be robust enough for the wire size, that'd be my only concern.
