What I was suggesting was something like this:

it's nice to have regardless because you can essentially get 220 volts out of any 110 outlet. I have some 220v tools that I need to be able to use away from where I have a wired outlet. Rather than lugging out a generator with a 220v outlet, I can just plug this into any 110 outlet and get my 220 volts. It goes the other way as well and steps down 220 to 110.

This would work, an international converter could do it, but do they have an receptacle for US 220? You'd have to find
