built our house and my wife wanted it quiet. It has been and is very, very quiet (I'll get out my decibel meter sometime and take a reading). I'm not sure I can see a need for paying thousands for a quiet dishwasher when the one we had was only one or two hundred more than the noisy ones. But then again, we haven't had to go shopping for one in 17 years, so maybe they're all getting that expensive today.
