after hearing Bowlsby condescend on UCF because of their lack of SOS and because they are not P5, that BYU should stick with the independent course. If you look at the 2018 schedule, then you'll realize it is a pretty legit schedule by all intents and purposes. If BYU was in a G5 league then the same argument would be used against them as it was for UCF. If UCF does what they did this year with a BYU schedule in 2018 and other future schedules then Bowlsby would have a difficult time denying them at least strong consideration in the playoff. Because of that, I'm willing to ride independence out until 2024 to see what happens with conference negotiations that could lead to expansion. Before, I'd knee jerk react because of outside influences or because of BYU's lousy season that they should get into the AAC or MWC. It is wise to wait and see.
