They shouldn't even be bought for cleaning...

other than keeping algae off the glass which they do well. If you want a fish that "cleans" you are look more for bottom dwellers like Corys or Loaches. Fancy Goldfish surf the bottom too but they are poop machines.

If you do get a Pleco you want a dwarf or bushy-nose Pleco. They stay smaller and won't turn into the 10 inch monsters.
