I used to work for one of the larger non-big 4 accounting firms in Utah
They had a client who was big into a certain MLM. These people were LDS as was the partner in the firm that managed this account. These clients wanted to write-off many personal expenses as business expenses. Things like tennis lessons for their kids, maintenance on their swim pool, etc... In the clients' minds they thought they should be able to write off these items because they needed to show their potential down-line how successful they were.

Finally, the partner got sick of the clients' shenanigans and fired them. Basically the partner told the clients that what they were trying to do on their taxes was dishonest and illegal. He also said as one member of the church to another that he was ashamed that the client would be so dishonest.
