Culture is based on many things which include the community,relationships, and ethnicity among other things that a person belongs to/identifies with.

It's not racist in the negative to acknowledge those things.

Polynesian culture is a real thing like any other so what is racist about dicussing it? Is it because something negative has been attributed to it?

If so that is sad. Culture is not off limits for criticism,nor is it devoid of negative attributes and impact on society.
