I'm assuming that coaches are experimenting this year with the offense. Some areas are improved, but it's also clear
that what's happening now isn't good enough. It might simply be a talent thing, but there isn't any real firepower in this offense. It doesn't flow. There are precious few opportunities for momentum and/or confidence to build. There's nothing dangerous going on. We have a couple good players, but so far the whole doesn't equal, let alone exceed, the sum of the parts. I'm very much hoping to see tweaks to the system as we go along. There really needs to be some elements of the more free-wheeling offense of yesteryear involved. No need to give up on what's currently working, but there's just not enough offense being generated. It's like the 2016 football season right now. A couple good players shoring up an otherwise mediocre attack.

I'm certainly no basketball expert, but to my eyes there seems to be way, way too much standing around and watching. And when they do move, it often (not always) seems to be without purpose or effect. I realize that there is a scheme in place - I'm just questioning its effectiveness. Guys also seem very reluctant to shoot. We don't have nearly enough instances of guys letting lose right upon the catch. Instead, guys receive a pass and then proceed to look over the defense for several seconds (defense having plenty of time to recover), then make some sort of decision. Rinse and repeat. I'm all for finding great shots instead of hoisting bad ones, but our guys need to be confident to pull the trigger.
