Rose may not hate Dastrup, but he has shown to misjudge players’ potential.
Jordan Chatman, Isaac Nielson, Frank Bartley, etc.
Advanced metrics show Dastrup significantly improves BYU’s offense when he is on the court, and actually is slightly better than Worthington on defense (although both are bottom 10 percentile). But Dastrup’s ceiling is way higher than Worthington, Andrus, Shaw, Lee. This combined with Dastrup coming up big in key games (Utah, UMass, etc.) is why many fans, including myself, are baffled by his lack of PT.
